Howdy. Arcania is my first purchase on Beamdog. I finally got it downloaded, but now it won't start. No messages, no background processes, nothing. After I hit play it just thinks for a dozen seconds, then stops thinking and goes about its business.
-Windows 7 64-bit
-Sapphire Radeon 4870 512mb

Interesting - when you installed the game via Beamdog did it run through setting up pre-requisites for you?

It installed Directx files, then nothing. I'm trying a re-installation at this moment.
Having monitored it in Task Manager, it appears that the Arcania process starts, runs for a few seconds, then just disappears and releases its resources. Launching it directly with its own exe(s) yields the same results. Another game launched from the Beamdog client works fine.

OK, I figured it out. I just had to download and reinstall the PhysX drivers from Nvidia. Now I can make it to the main menu, at least.

I'm having the same problem. I don't see why I should need to install physx drivers?? As far as I can tell they are for nvidia cards and I'm running a radeon 5770.

I've looked into this issue a bit more and I can't seem to identify the issue you're having. Your drivers and software all seem up to date, but the game seems to have distaste for your systems. As a last resort you could try re-downloading the game from scratch, but if nothing is working for you then contact me via email and I can get you a full refund on your purchase. Sorry for the inconvenience.
