Any way I can get a DVD of Baldur's Gate Enhanced Game even if I purchase the online version?

Just in case my computer crashes I will still have a disc to re-download it from

Thank You

You should be able to redownload it from here once it is released. It appears under the 'My Games' section of your account so you'll never lose the privilage of downloading it. I suppose you could always copy it to disk once you have it (if you dont fancy a large internet download) which is perfectly acceptable I believe!

Installing it on everyone's computer, including your friends, is basically piracy. I obviously haven't seen their EULA, but I'm guessing it is for personal use, not for your friends and family to all get a free copy.

im guessing when trying to install on different machine it will prevent me since the product key will already be in use. each buy will allow one active install. however i should be able to uninstall & reinstall using my product key.

i was just a little confused on how it all works and that is why i asked, i don t intend to support piracy on a years-long dream coming true! the guys at beamdog seem to love the rpgs i love the most and im going to support their work. i wish there were more like them out there, then maybe masterpieces like Mass Effect wouldn t end up action-shooter hybrids with as much role-playing elements as a Legend of Zelda game.

kostas makrinos, quite true. imho LoZ delivers, there is not a strong story anyway... but ME3 totalled the ME series.

Curious that in ME I thought "shooting mechanics are not this game strongest point really" but now I prefer it that way. Its not a CStrike anyway!... the story is the important thing.

I also have a question similar to this. My dad wants to play the game as well. I have already pre-ordered it but he is not sure it will run on his PC. it is an older laptop that has integrated graphics. Otherwise It meets the system requirements. It could run the original game just fine but he does not want to purchase it if he can't run it. Will he be able to download and test this from my copy? is that legal and fine with you guys? I understand we will probably need separate accounts if we ever wanted to play multi-player but can we both use the same account for single player to make sure it works.

From what I've heard, I'm pretty sure Beamdog will not limit the number of times you can download the game, so you most likely will be able to download it to your dad's laptop for testing. I'm not sure about legality, but from an ethics standpoint, I see no problem with doing so if you either delete the game afterwards or have your dad purchase a second copy, which will probably be needed for multiplayer anyways.

Probably a dumb question, but since you have to play it through the Beamdog client will you still be able to do customization of sound sets and portraits?

@HaHaCharade You do NOT have to use the beamdog client for bgee, but you can if you want to, otherwise bgee has its only launcher that will validate (for first use) and then check for updates, after which it closes and the game runs. I don't know much about sound sets, but bgee is said to be very accessible to modders, so I'm sure it won't be a problem.
