BG:EE - Expected download time: 18 days.

Hi,

We're all avid fans of this excellent game, so I'll get to the point.

I've been downloading BG:EE on and off for three days, using the BD client. I'm in university halls of residence in the UK - the internet connection here is clocked at between 85 and 100 Mbs, with an Upload of 7 to 10Mbs. On steam I get around 20Mbs. On Desura, the same. On Beamdog, I've not had above 500 BPS. Half a freaking KB(!!!!)

I've seen links for Torrent files, and port forwarding. Those would be great - But I do not have access to the ports for the Uni router (and getting them to unblock a port for entire societies before has been unsuccessful), whilst all known Torrent sites are blocked by the uni Firewall, and any people found using Torrents are banned from the intranet.

So, because I can't utilise a jury-rigged work-around, am I doomed to spending the next EIGHTEEN DAYS waiting to play Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition?

Someone, nay, Anyone - have some compassion, and please sort this stuff out.

Downloading via the torrent link above. The size according to uTorrent is 1.84GB. Isn't that correct?

I'm downloading via the Torrent now. Getting between 1 and 5 kb/s.

ETA Three weeks.

Is there no other way? How have people been able to download this thing in less than a day?

Beamdog Support: THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION. PLEASE HELP.

Ok, I'm giving up for now. Less than a Kb/s DL speed four days after launch is a bit of a sick joke :(

Will try each evening throughout the week, and if there's still no improvement by Friday, then I'll just have to file a complaint with PayPal and seek a refund.

Simply can't afford to spend $20 and hours upon hours of trouble-shooting on the net for a non-existent product. I Haven't even got the thing downloaded yet - but looking at the number of fatal errors and bugs that are being reported from people who've managed to successfully get their hands on the game... it's a little disheartening to perhaps have that to look forward to too.

take a laptop to mcdonalds or starbucks you fool. Thats what i used to do at uni? Dont have one? borrow one?

Really, Karrick? ... Fine. I'll borrow a flatmate's laptop tomorrow and go study somewhere with free Wifi. -_- Insane solutions to insane problems. *sigh*

Beamdog has crashed so many times I've deleted the thing.

Now using uTorrent over free wireless to download the 00766 file.

106MB in 24 hours. So. Painful.

Do about fifteen hundred people feel like being overly angelic and seeding the torrent?!
