Hello,
afaik Beamdogs Precursor version contains the latest official patch. The GFI website states this. Can't say if this is really true.

Thanks , it seems to be up to date on the official patch , I've made a back up of the game folder and I'm going to try the unofficial patch .

I've played the game very briefly after installing the unofficial patch and there weren't any issues starting it and loading a save at least .

We are up to date with everything supplied by the publisher. Please keep us posted on how the unofficial patch works out. If it solves issues our users are having with the game we'll try to improve the situation.

It fixed a lot of issues for me. If you have a GeForce GPU apparently you won't see the flicker problem, but I have an ATI and the unofficial patch fixed it for me. Also The sound cutting out issues are mostly fixed with it. You do need to manually pick the Beamdog installer folder but all is well after that. I made a backup, installed it and it was fine. I'm about an hour into it and it's a lot better.
