you can set the game to auto pause when the first enemy is sighted so you can walk as much as you want and it will instantly stop the game so you can then change statergy so you dont have to waste time stopping and starting

did you pre-order it? From what i understand you only got the characters if you pre ordered the game, ive pre ordered for my PC and i have them how ever my friend didnt pre order them for his i-pad so i could be wrong but its the only logical guess i could come up with if another friend of mine buys it now for the PC and doesnt get the characters ill let you know then we can be sure of this.

On the shop icon in the main menu there is the option to by dorn, neera and extra portraits for $3 each. I was to understand that all the characters came with the game upon purchase? So is there some kind of mistake or is there some false advertising going on here?

Yea, that sounds like a graphics compatibility problem, wereas we're talking about not being able to login to the client or the installer. Is there anything in the BG:EE forums that have talked about your problem?

I'm running on XP sp3 and having no problems.

I had the same problem when I first played Icewind Dale after playing thru BG2. I compensated by moving forward tentatively to not alert too many enemies, and running away a lot when I inevitably did. It got a lot easier when I leveled my party up a few times. I do like bsj11377's strategy suggestions. BG2 seemed a lot easier to pick up.

I am experiencing the same sought of problems as above,but i am using vista and i cannot get it past the character screen,as there is jumbled up letters and numbers on the main screen.It maybe because i have got an intel graphics card but does anybody know how to play the game that can play without using intel?

go onto the baldurs gate website www.baldursgate.com and at the bottom youll see windoes pc avaliable now and ipad avaliable now at the very bottom, click on the appropriate platform you want the game for and it will them prompt you to either enter a credit card or pay via paypal and then you need to download the beam dog client and then downlaod the game from there, there are about 3 updates (maybe 4 so if someone can correct me on this) and once the payment has been logged to your account then you can play once its all downloaded and updated

right lets see if i can help (i don't work for beamdog I've just gotten lucky and got for the most part a perfect version) for the flickering between games I've not heard that before on these forums so i dont think blaming beamdog will help for your nephews seizure so calm down for that, the only idea that i can come up with is to perhaps try it in windowed mode, this also helps with the lag a problem that i had when it was full screen, as for the saving check if the baldurs gate .exe file is in the original file (perhaps you moved it to the shortcut, on some games it does mess up so just an idea) if it is in the right folder perhaps make / remake the save file and maybe thats the problem.

ive heard of loading issues (ive had them on my netbook but that could be just because my netbook pretty much has no graphics so i ahve no idea for that.) perhaps the windows mode will help and also maybe you need more space on your computer (having no idea what computer it is its only a guess but a logical one) it could also be that the mods are making it mess up, if so remove the mods and maybe try updating your game apart from that i have little idea on what else to offer but i will say this:

threats aren't going to work and shouting and bawling that you have friends that an internet business doesn't want to cross (aka apparently with the power to shut them down) then all your going to do is make the game harder to fix for everyone else and come off as a selfish and arrogant person so chill out

from what im told you only get all three if you pre-order it as i have all three avaliable (not found the monk yet but found dorm and neera) and he doesnt have them on his tablet so methinks perhaps your version simply doesnt have them if so you may need to buy them

another good idea is to set it to auto pause and to put the main player in the middle of the party so he has a meatsheild in case of traps or getting shot by ranged people

go onto your character sheet and click on reform party, that's how its done in single player but I've never played baldurs gate multiplayer (although I'd like to)

Nice job. Both the standalone installer and the Beamdog client refuse to work in my case. I'll keep looking through forums for advice on how to get past this.

I installed it on my Xp machine without any issues. I used the standalone installer i think? Some sort of launcher opened, downloaded the game content, and then the same launcher is used to open / hit play / launch the game.

bsj11377, thank you fo the reply and tips. Some of those strategies I already practice though some of them though others seem like good tips. Like I said before, I am familiar with BG type of gameplay as I finished BG2 a few times already. It feels more difficult than BG2.

The game was actually working perfectly fine until the last update. Now my cursor has the disabled symbol and the tooltip just flickers. Anything I should try? Thanks

Yeah I thought it started out a little difficult but once I started building my party it became more easy. So just give it some time.

Have you tried turning off the "Party AI" which is in the bottom right corner?

Strategy.

1. Set to "Auto Pause" when an enemy is sighted.

2. Use Imoen skill "Hide in Shadow" to scout ahead.

3. Only Enemies revealed by the "Fog of War" will attack you. Take it slow, reveal one Enemy at a time and have Imoen fall back after "Leaving Shadow" to bait the Enemy.

4. Have rest of your Crew armed with "Ranged Weapons". Keep Imoen moving while the rest of the team takes out the Enemy.

5. Always "Pause" while giving Imoen commands keeping the Enemy away from your team while kepping the Enemy in range.

6. If the Enemy gets attracted to another Crew Member, Switch Imoen to " Ranged Weapon" using the same strategy.

Remember to keep pausing when in battle to issue commands and keep away from unrevealed territory until said battle is done.

Finally, you can save in a fight. Save every 30- 60 seconds, so if you make a fatal error you don't have to start over again.

I recently purchased Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition for both PC and IOS (iPad) platforms respectively.

Though I never played the original BG, I was introduced into the series through BG2 SoA (which i finished) and expansion ToB so I am familiar with playing the game mechanics.

I have left the game difficulty at its default setting (which appears to be 2nd most easiest), yet I find it bloody difficult. My main character and companions die very easily and suck at dishing out damage (few successful hits). I am in a very early stage of a game, in Larswood on my way to the Friendly Arms Inn.

Is it just me or is this game difficult, or do I just completely suck at it?

I think you have to log on to Beamdog with your user. At the top of the page you see your username. Click it and choose My Account. Then you can choose Redeem Games from the menu on the lefthand side.

Haven't tried it myself, but I think thats the procedure. :)
