  • Best gaming news of the year!

i personally dont care. ive had 15 years to sit and "appreciate" the ending of the BG series, its time for more. good or bad. its obvious there are still die hard fans of the series. i want more, and whoever makes it, i just hope they stick to the overhead view that they have always used, just better graphics, new story, and have it majorly tie into the previous games, same main character or not. need, want, like and love this whole series, start to finish. feed us more.

  • Multiplayer issue (bug?)

  • gamers rant too much

Will you remake Planescape: Torment too? ROFL!

In all seriousness I played the crap out of BG, BG2, Planescape -- Icewind Dale -- I've returned to these games countless times there is absolutely nothing like them in the market. I played these games for years over and now --- the cycle repeats itself!!!!

On BG3 I got two ideas. Spoilers.

You take all the power from the font and the next game starts off like Planescape -- your dropped into Sigil and are traveling the planes as you see fit just like the last game said. Committing murders for the good or bad of the planes! Probably fighitng in the never ending war of the demons(who can end a war like that? The Lord of Murder) Planescape: Torment is graphically outdated, but the story inside and the adventure -- its a real nice D&D twist; you just love the universe they drop you in; it would be perfect for BG3.

That or your orphaned again. Your dad took all the power and went off to be a god and maybe your mom is Aerie or Jaheria or VIconia (drow protaginists!) And now you just want to find him -- or maybe everyones trying to murder you again because your a demi-god!

Watcher's Keep was a pretty easy dungeon compared to Durlag's Tower, D&D can be brutal and we just want some tactical top down view of some lovable D&D characters in a real unique 100hr+ dungeon crawl. I've played a lot of crap that tries to emulate the experience, but I can honestly say you need a true connection to your D&D party with the ability to carve out a unique experience using a variety of tactics for various playstyles. I remember playing Pool of Radiance; one BIG dungeon and your crawling at a snails pace thru the game cause the maps huge and your movement speed is -- well you might as well mod the game to fix it if you want to enjoy this one -- I really wanted to like it but no connection to any of the party, no character interactions. The characters were non-existant the whole thing was painful. As bad as I wanted to play D&D it's not really D&D without snarky comedy, without choices. Theres always a moral question being posed in BG and when theres not, the combat is pretty sweet. The characters are memorable. Do you remember the nostalga you felt playing Dragon Age: Origins? I lost all of it when I played the second Dragon Age(it was like playing a game of a game of a game I really really enjoyed and it just led me to replying those old games I mentioned at the start of my post). Anywho don't make another Pool of Radiance or another Dragon Age. Follow the formula of Baldur's Gate. Provide a table top experience on my laptop! The idea is to make a fresh new game following a sweet formula -- if it's not broken don't fix it. Theres sooo much you can do people don't want to see a rehash where their buying the sequel just to see their old favorites again -- they want to make new favorites. They want a new epic experience. Sooo don't change the formula too much -- don't be afraid to write off stupid things from D&D and make it your own, but BG3 needs to be something people play and feel like their carving out a whole new D&D experience. Neverwinter Nights went in their own direction --- Icewind Dale carried MOST of the mantel of BG --- but why o why hasn't anyone done this formula again and let us take arms as one of the most important characters of the realm. Swords for everyone, let the romancing begin --- I want to slay Vampires, Dragons, Doppelgangers -- I want mages saying Gorion was a fool casting their hold spells. The game was SO GOOD. Nothing has carried the mantel. Get some great writers together because this next game needs to be just like the first two -- a well written D&D immersible experience. Made for PC! Not some action xbox game like dragonage, not something boring like most pc games like pool of radience. and not a trucking massive online multiplayer. Theres a formula called baldur's gate and although icewind dale didn't have the party interaction, it had enough of the formula that I purchased it -- but I havn't played it as much over the years -- it's only the exciting combat that provokes me to installing it.the premade npcs and the epic adventure bring my back. i still have all my discs to the BG games. this was totally worth the 45$. no in app purchases and ill be playing for years(decades even) please resurrect this old formula -- everyone that has done so so far has twisted it -- to an almost unrecognizable form that breaks my heart. See dragon age 2 -- a great game -- ill play dragon age 3 -- but its not BG --- its nothing like it -- and I won't remember it or return to it the way that I will religiously and zealously hand over fists full of dollors(kickstarter included) for a baldurs gate game( or icewind dale with non-player made npcs)
